Day 01: Arrival in Leh
Arriving at Leh, I recommend Half day complete rest for the acclimatization. Since Ladakh is at High altitude sometimes people get altitude sickness , such as having Headaches, and fall short of breath etc. After lunch if you are feeling fine you can visit the Leh market and around. (you can have a nice view of the whole Leh city from here) and a market which is at walking distance. Overnight in Leh.
Day 02: Sham Valley Sightseeing ( 90kms / 4 hrs )
Today, you can explore the western part of Ladakh. You'll visit Pathar Sahib (the Gurudwara), Magnetic Hill, and Sangam (the confluence of River Indus and Zanskar River). Afterward, you can head a little further to Nimmo village for lunch, where you'll find some nice restaurants. On your way back, visit the Hall of Fame. In the evening, you can enjoy the view of the whole Leh city from Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. Overnight stay in Leh. You'll be driving approximately 90kms today.
Day 03, Leh – Khardungla – Deskit – Hundar – Nubra ( 130kms / 4 -5 hrs )
After breakfast get ready for a thrilling drive to Nubra Valley via the legendary Khardong La Pass., ( the 2nd highest motorable road in the world). Enjoy the panoramic views from the pass, then continue to Hundar, known for its sand dunes and double-humped camels. Spend the afternoon exploring Hundar and Deskit villages at your leisure, immersing yourself in the tranquil beauty of Nubra Valley. do camel riding and explore the surroundings with a beautiful evening sunset, while on the way to Nubra you would see different nature, terrain, and beautiful sceneries overnight in Hundar.
Day 04, Nubra – Turtuk – Thang – Nubra ( 180kms / 6 -7 hrs )
On this day after a delicious breakfast you will head towards Turtuk. This place is the last Indian village on the borders of India and Pakistan. This village used to be under Pakistan before the 1971 war but After the war it became a part of India and it opened for tourism recently. From the village of Thang you can actually see a Pakistani village called Phranu. The villagers will tell you stories about how it used to be before and after. On the way back you can also visit Yabgo Palace in Turtuk and its surroundings. Come back to Nubra on the same day overnight in Nubra.
Day 05, Nubra – Agyam – Shayok – Pangong ( 170kms / 5-6 hrs )
Nubra to Pangong is a 5 hours’ drive, you can visit the beautiful Deskit monastery and big Maitreya statue in the morning. Deskit is famous for the 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. From the monastery you can have a beautiful view of the whole Nubra, the confluence of Shayok, and slowly head toward Pangong Lake. It is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China, it is said that more than half of it is in China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the Banks of Pangong while appreciating the changing Colours and fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Overnight stay in Pangong.
Day 06: Pangong – Rizang la_ Tsaga la – Hanley ( 180kms / 5-6 hrs )
This day you will continue your journey towards Hanley following the lake for more than 15kms you will pass by a few villages such as Spangmik , Man and Merak on the bank of the lake. The terrain today is mostly plain but rough and dusty roads. you will see Rizang la war memorial that you should absolutely see on the way as it tells a lot of stories about the war between India and China in 1962. Continue your journey crossing one pass called Tsaga la and you will reach Hanley by afternoon. Hanley is known for its location to observe stars and one of the world's highest astronomical observatories found in Hanley. explore the village and overnight in hanley
Day 07: Hanley – Umling la – Hanley ( 100kms / 6-7 hrs )
Embark on a thrilling journey today to Umling La, the highest motorable road in the world. Situated at an impressive elevation of 5,640 meters in Ladakh, India, this mountain pass offers breathtaking views and serves as the source for two vital rivers. Brace yourself for an adventure filled with rugged beauty and the thrill of conquering new heights.
Day 08: Hanley – Chumathang – Thiksey monastery - Leh ( 255 kms / 7-8 hrs )
After a delicious breakfast lets head back towards Leh, on a scenic drive from Hanley to Leh. Along the way, pause to relax at the Chumathang to see the Hot Spring water and have a tea break. We will continue to drive on the bank of the Indus river. We will also explore cultural gems like Thiksay Monastery and the famous Rancho School before reaching Leh for an overnight stay, cherishing the day's unforgettable experiences.
Day 09: Departure towards Delhi by flight
