Day 01: Fly into Leh; 3505 meters / 11567 feet. Arrive at Leh Airport. Take the first whiff of this spectacular mountain city as you step out into 10000 feet plus terrain. You are received and welcomed by our local representative at the airport and transferred to hotel and you rest for acclimatization. In the late afternoon, after your Leh Ladakh tour briefing, you visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Namgyal Shemo Gompa and then stroll through Leh Bazaar. Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh - The Kaal / Noble House / Ladakh Sarai. An overview of Leh Town	Leh, a historic town that served as the royal capital of the Old Kingdom. It is dominated by the nine-storey Leh Palace built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture. However, it is now dilapidated . Shanti Stupa: 3 km from Fort Road, Leh, it is a magnificent white-domed structure and located on the hilltop at Changspa. Namgyal Tsemo Gompa: Was founded around 1430 AD. It stands atop the crag behind Leh Palace and offers the most splendid visuals of Leh town. One of the most treasured possessions of the monastery is a three-story high solid gold idol of Maitrieya Buddha.
Day 02: Today your Leh tour takes you for a full day Indus Valley monastery tour to get a flavour of the history and culture of Ladakh India. With a visit to Thiksey, Shey and Hemis you cover the best known monuments around Leh in this phase of your Leh package. Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh.	Hemis Gompa, Ladakh	Thiksey Gompa was built 600 years ago, consists of 12 levels ascending a hillside, 10 temples and a large Buddha statue. Shey Palace, situated on a hillock was built in 1645 as a summer residence for the kings of Ladakh. It is the oldest palace in Ladakh. Hemis Monastery, 40 km southeast of Leh, is the biggest 'Gompa' of Ladakh and is near Hemis National Park.
Day 03: Drive west of Leh to Alchi (3300 m / 10000 ft)., Ulleytokpo 68 kms one way from Leh. After breakfast, drive via Spituk, Hall of Fame (which has a museum of the Kargil War memorabilia), Pathar Sahib Gurdwara, Magnetic Hill upto Alchi and then further on to Lamayuru Monastery (the oldest in Ladakh) and the mesmerizing Moon or Lunar Landscapes. Then drive back to reach Alchi / Ulleytokpo for the night. Overnight in deluxe camps / cottages at Alchi, Uleytokpo.	Alchi - a small village in the Indus Valley, 67 kms west of Leh.	Alchi (3500 m / 11500 feet) is a small village in the Indus Valley, 67 kms west of Leh. Abandoned centuries ago the gompa or monastery is known as Chos-kor, or religious enclave and comprises of five temples. Its murals, dating from the 11th century, pre-date the Tibetan style of painting seen in all the other gompas of the region. Likir Gompa is set on an isolated ridge. Numerous thankas hang from the columns and walls in the Assembly Hall.
Day 04: After breakfast explore Likir village and monastery and Basgo Castle. Later drive back towards Leh enroute meeting the sangam of Zanskar and Indus rivers near Nimu. Stop here perhaps to enjoy a packed lunch. Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh.	Lunar landscape at Lamayuru, West Ladakh.	Lamayuru Monastery is believed to have been a sacred site for the pre-Buddhist religion known as *Bon*. The main image is a large Vairocana (the Teaching Buddha) seated on a lion throne with a garuda (mythical bird) and sea monsters surrounding his head. Lamayuru is 125 kms west of Leh at an altitude of 3510 m / 11600 feet.
Day 05: Make an early start and drive east of Leh via Chang-la Mountain Pass (18,000 ft / 5,475 m) to Pangong Lake, (4267m / 14000 ft.), 145 kms / 5 hours one way. The views all around Chang La are simply spectacular. Mesmerizing vistas with the changing hues of the waters of the lovely lake. Drive back to reach Leh by evening. (Night stay at Pangong Lake can be offered, if desired, at extra cost). Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh.	Pangong Lake - Over 130 kms (80 miles) long - only one-third of it lying in India.	Pangong Lake, is 6 to 7 kms (4.5 miles) at its widest point, and over 130 kms (80 miles) long and is divided by the international border between India and China. Pangong presents a spectacular view of the mountains, their reflections shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lake�s brackish waters. Spangmik along the lake's southern shore are the summer homes of a scanty population of Chang-pa, the nomadic herdsmen of southeast Ladakh.
Day 06: Drive north of Leh to Nubra Valley, 120 kms one way (5 hours). Exciting experience at Khardung La, 39 kms from Leh. (Mountain Pass at 5578 m / 18300 ft.). Here is supposed to be the highest motorable road in the world. In Nubra Valley, visit Diskit, Hunder villages and the white sand dunes and take a short camel safari on the double humped Bactrian Camels. Overnight in deluxe camps / guest-house at Nubra Valley.	Nubra Valley and its white sand dunes	The route north of Leh crosses over Khardung-la. From Khardongla Top, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to the seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. It is the gateway to the Nubra Valley and used to lie on the ancient caravan trade route to Central Asia.
Day 07: In the morning explore Samstanling Monastery and Sumur village and then drive back to Leh, passing Khardung La once again. Drop to hotel. Later in the afternoon / evening take a walking tour for a last minute shopping stint for curios in Leh Bazaar and perhaps checking out the evening Leh caf� life. Overnight in Hotel (Category A) at Leh.	Double humped Bactrian camel in Nubra Valley	The name Nubra Valley is applied to the region comprising the valley of the river Nubra and that of the Shayok, both above and below their confluence. Samstenling: Nubra's major monastery is situated on the mountainside just above Sumur. This was the route taken by the trade caravans.
Day 08: Check out from Leh hotel and transfer to airport to board the morning flight to New Delhi or onward destination, feeling blessed for the stolen moments spent in Ladakh.
